Charles Garrett is an American born painter that grew up just outside of Portland, OR.  From a young age, Charles studied how to draw and paint landscapes.  He would continue to pursue his passion at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

While at the Academy, Charles won numerous awards and sold his work to some of Philadelphia's top collectors.  He attributes most of his artistic growth to New York artist Majorie Portnow and Philadelphia artist Anthony Visco.  These instructors would cultivate and blend his classical techniques with his artistic influences.

Referring to his work, Charles states "It's an attempt to bottle an emotion and/or meditation.  A painting always starts with an intent that quickly becomes lost and then found again, but in a completely different light."
